Active ITC Investigations: Smart Locks and Wireless Earbuds
Two Section 337 investigations remain active and merit close attention from importers. Investigation 337-TA-9003 targets certain smart-lock devices and their components, while 337-TA-9001 covers certain wireless earbuds and components. No respondents have been publicly named in either case as of this writing, which may indicate that complaints were recently filed and the Commission is still identifying parties—or that complainants are pursuing broad product categories. Exporters shipping smart-home hardware or Bluetooth audio accessories into the U.S. should review their product lines against the complaints once respondent lists and claim constructions become available. An exclusion order in either case could block entire product categories at the border.
Robotic Vacuum Investigation Settles
Investigation 337-TA-9002, covering certain robotic vacuum cleaners, has been terminated following a settlement between the parties.
